It is easy for a contractor to tell a homeowner, ‘We have done thousands of jobs in this area.’ What is harder is showing them those jobs. Project Map It turns completed work into a digital portfolio, giving sales teams visual proof to share when homeowners are deciding whom to choose.

“It’s a whole new ballgame when they can visually show that on our digital portfolio,” says Stephen Spence, co-owner and managing director.

Project Map It combines three capabilities into one platform. Its interactive project map showcases completed projects, while its review platform collects and displays customer feedback. An automatically updated Job Sites page extends that project information into the contractor’s online presence. While other mapping platforms may focus on lead generation, SEO or online visibility, Project Map It is designed as a sales and marketing tool.

Showing the Work That Builds Trust

Homeowners can gain confidence when they see examples that match their needs. Project Map It organizes projects by location, service, product and color. Smart filters allow roofers to show homes completed with a particular shingle or color, while customization lets contractors match the map to their brand. Privacy settings determine whether a project shows a full address or only a city, state or ZIP code, allowing contractors to provide useful proof of their work while respecting homeowners’ privacy.

Project Map It also functions as its own review platform, allowing contractors to collect and display reviews on the map. Customers without Gmail accounts can also leave reviews through the platform. All County Exteriors in New Jersey collected about 260 reviews in two months, with roughly 200 coming through Project Map It and 60 through Google. Its marketing director called the review platform amazing and said the sales team loved it.

The map’s sales value became clear during a roofing estimate involving Stephen Vazquez, now owner of Ten Point Roofing. While representing another roofing company, he met Pennsylvania homeowners comparing quotes of USD 13,500 and USD 15,500. Knowing the job was worth USD 15,500, he needed to justify the price.

During the presentation, Mr. Vazquez opened Project Map It on his digital presentation and entered the homeowners’ address, revealing three or four nearby projects. The homeowner recognized a nearby home belonging to someone she knew, building trust in the contractor. The demonstration also helped her choose between pewter and charcoal black shingles. Vazquez used the platform’s filters to show completed roofs in both colors, allowing her to compare actual installations rather than relying on a sample board.

  • It’s a whole new ballgame when they can visually show that on our digital portfolio.

She later chose the company, saying the map helped her decide. Vazquez estimates his close rate is about 20 percent higher when using the platform, while other contractors report closing 3 to 10 percent more deals.

Building for What Comes Next

Keeping project information current helps contractors use completed work across sales and marketing. Project Map It integrates with the three largest exterior remodeling supply companies in the U.S., using delivery data to help populate contractors’ maps and reduce manual data entry. CRM integrations are also in development to make the map easier to maintain.

After strengthening its sales tools, Project Map It is expanding its focus on contractors’ online presence. Its Job Sites page combines the map, project descriptions and FAQs. Project Map It is refining these pages to help AI-powered search tools interpret contractors’ project information.

Its existing AI tools turn contractors’ job notes into project descriptions and draft review responses. The platform also simplifies posting to Google, Facebook and Instagram, making it easier to maintain an active online presence. Future AI capabilities could analyze completed-project locations and help contractors identify communities to target for canvassing.

By turning completed projects into visible proof of credibility, Project Map It helps contractors build homeowner trust and strengthen sales conversations. This focus underpins its recognition as the Top Contractor Marketing and Sales Tool 2026.

Deep Dive

Choosing Contractor Sales Tools That Prove Local Experience

A contractor might have completed hundreds of projects in a homeowner’s neighborhood, but that experience only goes so far during an estimate if the sales representative cannot show proof of it. Photos spread across different presentations and general claims about local experience rarely carry the same weight as actual completed projects that homeowners can identify. Contractor marketing and sales tools need to make it easier to showcase that experience without adding more paperwork or administrative tasks for teams already juggling estimates and customer appointments. Choosing the right platform comes down to how well it helps contractors during sales conversations. Lead generation is still important, but contractors who spend a lot on advertising may already have plenty of inquiries. Their real challenge is turning those leads into signed contracts, especially when homeowners are comparing similar proposals with different prices. Software built mainly to bring visitors to a website may not offer much help once a sales representative is sitting down with the homeowner. “Project Map It also provides a review platform that lets contractors collect customer feedback directly and display those reviews alongside completed projects.” Having a searchable portfolio of completed projects gives sales teams something useful to show during these conversations. Geographic mapping can help demonstrate that the contractor has worked near a prospective customer's property, while project photos show examples of similar installations. Buyers should check whether representatives can filter projects by service type or product specifications instead of scrolling through work that has little relevance to the customer. A roofing contractor discussing shingle colors needs different examples from a bathroom remodeler showing shower conversions. Customer privacy also needs to be considered when presenting this kind of evidence. Exact addresses can be useful for exterior projects because prospective customers may be able to see the finished work from public areas. Interior remodeling projects, on the other hand, need more privacy. Platforms that let contractors adjust location details can still show that the work was done nearby without unnecessarily revealing homeowners’ addresses. Buyers should also find out who manages project records and how access permissions work when project photos or other details are shared on public pages. Customer reviews also play a role in building trust. But when reviews are kept separate from project portfolios, sales representatives have to switch between systems during presentations. Keeping project photos and customer feedback in one place can make these conversations easier. Contractors should also check whether customers can leave feedback without creating accounts on major review platforms and clearly separate direct testimonials from reviews published through third-party services. Keeping the project portfolio up to date takes time. Sales representatives need accurate records, but manual uploads can get in the way of estimates and customer follow-ups. Integrating existing supplier records can help avoid duplicate entry. Executives should check which integrations are available, how often data updates and whether staff can fix incomplete records. Features like social posting and searchable project pages add value, but their impact should be measured separately from actual sales conversions. Project Map It organizes completed contractor jobs into an interactive geographic portfolio that sales representatives can use during homeowner consultations. Its smart filters let users display installations matching particular services or product attributes, while configurable address settings accommodate different privacy requirements. Project Map It also provides a review platform that lets contractors collect customer feedback directly and display those reviews alongside completed projects. Supplier integrations help populate the map from purchasing activity, reducing manual maintenance. Its automatically updated job sites page extends project information to an online audience. Contractors with established lead flow, substantial local project histories and sales teams that must substantiate their experience during estimates are particularly well served by this approach. ...Read more
