Various parts of an air handling unit serve different functions that are combined for better performance of an air conditioning system.
FREMONT, CA: Air handling unit (AHU) is key equipment in heating, cooling, and air-conditioning systems used in homes and businesses. AHUs, as their name implies, are required to handle and change the air to meet specific requirements. However, describing the entire functioning of these units in a single sentence is impossible. These systems are made up of several components, each of which serves a distinct purpose.
Functions of different parts of AHU:

Filter
The filter is one of the essential parts of an AHU. In addition to conditioning the air, it is critical to filter the air in the building. Filters are inserted in the AHU to remove dirt and other bothersome components of the air, making it fresh and clean.
Dampers and mixing chambers
Dampers are installed inside an air handling unit's mixing chamber and serve another vital purpose. To alter the air more quickly and easily, this entire setup combines air from the outside of the building and removes air from the inside of the structure.
Humidifier
Humidifiers in air handling systems maintain the quality of the air in a chilly environment. Several units contain humidifiers of various types, including ultrasonic humidifiers and vaporizers.
Blower
The blower, which converts the air present in the building, is an integral component of every air handling machine. The blower collects air, which is either heated or cooled (conditioned) before being expelled into the structure. For greater performance, air handling devices in industrial buildings may feature many blowers or fans.
Conditioning elements
The elements that assist in cooling or heating the air are the second most significant components of an air handling unit. Cooling coils are used to chill the oil in cooling systems, and heating coils are used for air-conditioning systems in heating systems.
Some other parts
To improve energy efficiency and manage the noise and vibration of the AHU, several types of heat recovery devices and sound attenuators are used. Smoke detectors are also included in these units to help sense smoke and prevent accidents.
