Canadian green start-up Nexii Buildings Solutions Inc. announce that they have a solution to the carbon emission issues in construction.
FREMONT, CA: Green start-up Nexii Buildings Solutions Inc. has come up with a solution to the carbon emission issues in construction. The company’s product Nexiite is a proprietary material that increases the speed of rapid construction, is a near-zero carbon alternative to cement, which is a highly carbon-intensive material.
In construction greenhouse, gas emissions are a huge problem. According to the 2019 Global Status Report for Buildings and Construction, in 2018, 39 percent of carbon emissions came from buildings and construction, and almost 11 percent came from manufacturing materials like steel, glass, and cement.

Nexii CEO Stephen Sidwell said ABC Audio that it is necessary to apply a new construction process that will help to slow climate change and support an increasing population around the world. It is expected that every building on the planet will double in the next 40 years. It is similar to New York City being developed every month for the next 40 years.
The objective of Nexii’s is to develop near net-zero or net-zero buildings. It means the facilities will produce as much or nearly as much energy it utilizes every year.
Sidwell further mentioned that in the construction procedure, the company knows that it has considerably lower embodied carbons simultaneously in the building system compared to other building systems. It is an amalgamation of those embodied carbons entering the building and then the lower operating expense or energy costs. The energy that is necessary to run the building is also going to be significantly lower.
The embodied carbons are the greenhouse gas emissions involved with the construction of a building. It even includes mining, manufacturing, or any transportation of any materials. The organization can develop brand new facilities or reconstruct the existing ones. Till now, the company has completed ten buildings, including reconstructions. The product is manufactured off-site and then shipped to the building site, which increases the speed of building times.
