Maxon, a Nemetschek Brand Expands its Product Range

Following the acquisitions of Redshift rendering technologies and Red Giant’s exclusive editor and post-production software, the firm has now announced the acquisition of the handheld 3D application forger.

FREMONT, CA: Maxon, a German subsidiary of the Nemetschek Group, is rapidly growing its product range. Following the acquisitions of Redshift rendering technologies and Red Giant’s exclusive editor and post-production software, the firm has now announced the acquisition of the handheld 3D application forger. The famous desktop-class sculpting software for iOS is a great way to get started with 3D sculpting and learn about portable workflows.

“We always have our customer in mind when enhancing our offering. Our aim is to deliver best-in-class, innovative tools. Content creators worldwide can live their passion for motion 2D and 3D design, motion graphics, visual effects, and visualization graphics with powerful features, speed, stability and ease of use,” explains David McGavran, CEO, Maxon.

Maxon purchased Redshift Rendering Technologiesin 2019. The company gained access to cutting-edge rendering technologies and experience as a result of this move. To best support the post-production and content-making industries, Maxon and Red Giant, a manufacturer of exclusive resources for editors, VFX artists, and motion creators, announced a merger in early 2020. With the purchase of Forger just a few weeks ago, the portfolio now includes desktop-class, professional-level sculpting workflows on mobile devices. Forger supports both iOS devices (iPad, iPhone, and iPod Touch). “We are always looking for ways to expand the creative freedom and capabilities of our artistic community. We love the fun and immediacy that Forger’s workflow on iPad offers for sculpting and painting. We look forward to exploring what more it can bring to our users,” states McGavran.

Maxon apps are offered on a subscription basis, giving users access to continuing product enhancements and software upgrades. In 2020, there will be more than ten new launches. Users and independent juries routinely reward Maxon tools. At the Toolfarm Plugin Awards 2020 last year, three items took first place: Cinema 4D in the category Favorite 3D Modeling, Painting, or Sculpting Software, Redshift in the category Favorite 3D Renderer, and the Red Giant Trapcode Suite in the category Favorite Particle or Fluid Generating VFX Tool. In the category 3D-Modeling, Cinema 4D won almost half of all votes.

“There is a highly inspiring, experienced and enthusiastic team behind all products at Maxon. In addition, their close relationships to hardware manufacturers like Intel and Apple guarantee optimized products that follow the pulse of technology closely. Maxon focuses on the customer in all its activities, which shows in customer figures, results, and feedback - for 35 years now,” says Dr. Axel Kaufmann, spokesman of the Executive Board and CFOO, Nemetschek Group.
