Lorex Technology Introduces Novel 2K Wired Video Doorbell

With a 4:3 aspect ratio and a 164-degree field of view, the doorbell protects all angles of the front door, enabling homeowners to recognize when deliveries have been lost.

FREMONT, CA: Lorex Technology, one of the most trusted brands in home security, announced the introduction of the latest addition to its portfolio of industry-leading smart security devices, the Lorex 2K QHD Wired Video Doorbell with Individual Detection.

Featuring built-in person detection, the 2K QHD Wired Video Doorbell alerts homeowners to movement near their doorstep, with updates sent to the Lorex Home app when a person's motion is identified. This smart motion feature restricts the number of unwanted alerts, such as swaying tree branches. The person detection functionality is included at no added expense.

"Lorex continues to push the envelope when it comes to widening our offerings of Smart Home Monitoring products," said Ilan Gershon, Director of Product Strategy and Development, Lorex Technology. "With the release of the 2K doorbell, Lorex is entering a new era of Lorex Smart Home products that continue to be easy to install, simple to use and secure for our customers."

With a 4:3 aspect ratio and a 164-degree field of view, the doorbell protects all angles of the front door, enabling homeowners to recognize when deliveries have been lost. 2K video (2560x1920) is more than twice the size of 1080p (1080x1920), helping the camera to view improved video and transparency, whereas HDR (High Dynamic Range) automatically changes the exposure level in challenging lighting situations.

Besides, in those moments where the door cannot be opened, users now have the option to remotely answer the door using the Lorex Home software on their smartphones. A ring notification will display on the app, allowing response using one of three fast answers. The Lorex Home App also provides the option of pre-recording a personalized message to add a special touch to any front door. For occasions where rapid response is not enough, Two Way Talk helps users talk directly to guests via the doorbell.

For added protection, the 2K Video Doorbell comes with a built-in LED night light. The nightlight may be programmed to turn on at a certain time every night to greet those who arrive. Alternatively, the light may be designed to enable when motion is sensed to dissuade unwelcome visitors. Local storage ensures no monthly charge. Furthermore, both video recordings are saved locally on the included Protection Level 32GB WD Purple MicroSD card. The doorbell supports a microSD capacity of up to 256GB if further storage is required.

The Lorex Home is a smart home. The 2K Doorbell is entirely compatible with the award-winning Lorex Fusion Series, a family of high-performance wired video recorders that allow you to connect a range of Wi-Fi smart home gadgets. Devices such as doorbells, floodlights, and sensors to create a personalized smart home surveillance system that meets homeowners' needs. The doorbell is also compatible with Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant.
