Kevin Smith has been appointed the general manager of The Toro Company's newly founded Ditch Witch Division.
FREMONT, CA: Within Ditch Witch, a familiar face is taking over the organization's control. Kevin Smith has been appointed the general manager of The Toro Company's newly founded Ditch Witch Division. Smith is responsible for getting Ditch Witch, Subsite Electronics, American Augers and, Trencor companies into one company whose goods will be distributed mainly through the Ditch Witch global channel.
The previous president of Ditch Witch, Dennis Wierzbicki, has retired, and Smith is pleased to direct the enlarged Ditch Witch Division into the future.
"Ditch Witch and Subsite customers have long enjoyed the localized service and support from their local Ditch Witch dealerships," said Smith. "Those same market-leading benefits from our dealers will now be extended to current and new American Augers and Trencor customers around the world at one of our more than 175 dealer locations."
In the underground construction industry, Smith has an established track record. He has spent 20 years in the Ditch Witch company, getting experience with the distributor organization in production, product creation, research and development, distribution, business growth, product management, and direct sales. From there, Smith served for seven years as president of MTI Equipment, where he extended the brand's reach in the segment of used HDD equipment. He started leading the Subsite Electronics and HammerHead companies in 2015, where his leadership effectively shaped sustainable growth for both brands and improved HammerHead's underground utility market and rehabilitation strategy.
"I look forward to leading the Ditch Witch Division and bringing these four brands together as one strong organization. Each brand has unique, differentiating qualities, and we will leverage our talent and expertise in key market segments and work closely with our Ditch Witch dealers to deliver an unparalleled customer experience every day," Smith said.
Smith is a valued member of the group and presently serves on the Harper Industries board in Harper, Kansas, the 2050 Infrastructure Taskforce Association of Equipment Manufacturers and the Utility Expo display board.
