Riyadh, Saudi Arabia: The rapid development of large-scale infrastructure, urban developments, mining projects, and giga-projects across Saudi Arabia is increasing the demand for advanced approaches to ground engineering. Against this backdrop, the 3rd Annual International Ground Innovation Conference (IGIC 2026) will take place on October 14–15, 2026, at Fairmont Riyadh, bringing together project owners, geotechnical contractors, consultants, technology providers, machinery suppliers, researchers, and engineering specialists.
The conference is designed around the complex subsurface conditions encountered across MENA, including hard and fractured rock, karst formations, sabkha and weak soils, groundwater pressures, geohazards, tunneling requirements, and challenging climatic conditions. These factors can directly affect foundation design, excavation, construction schedules, project costs, and long-term infrastructure performance.
IGIC 2026 will provide a platform for professionals to examine practical solutions for some of the region’s most demanding engineering environments.Discussions will span soil improvement, foundation engineering, tunneling, rock mechanics, geohazard mitigation, and underground infrastructure, with an emphasis on connecting technical design considerations with on-site execution requirements.
