FREMONT, CA: Following the COVID-19 outbreak, scientists had determined that the coronavirus is highly infectious and spreads through the air. According to studies, it spreads mainly by coughing, sneezing, or talking—actions that expel respiratory droplets containing coronavirus particles mixed with mucus or saliva. The coronavirus could be spread if these droplets fall on or are inhaled by others nearby. Infection may also be spread by touching doorknobs, computer screens, or other areas where droplets have landed. These findings are reflected in the now-common recommendations for wearing masks and physical distancing (typically standing six feet away from others).
