Buildots has raised $16 million in SeriesA funding round to use computer vision so that they can modernize the construction management industry.
FREMONT, CA: Buildots is a London-based Tel Aviv startup that is utilizing the computer vision to enhance construction management. Recently the company has announced that it has raised $16 million. This includes a $3 million received in seed round, which was earlier unreported, and a $13 million Series A round led by TLV Partners. Other investors were Innogy Ventures, Tidhar Construction Group, Ziv Aviram (co-founder of Mobileye & OrCam), Magma Ventures head Zvika Limon, serial entrepreneurs Benny Schnaider and Avigdor Willenz, as well as Tidhar Chairman Gil Geva.
The concept around Buildots is pretty simple. The team is utilizing hardhat-mounted 360-degree cameras that permit project managers in construction areas to get an impression of the state of a project and whether it will be completed on schedule or not. The organization’s software has developed a digital twin for the construction site by utilizing architectural plans and program as its basis. Then, it used computer vision to compare what the plans say to the reality that its tools are seeing. It will help Buildots to instantly identify when a power outlet is missing in a room or whether there is a sink that has to be installed in a kitchen.

According to Tidhar’s Geva, Buildots has solved a challenge that seemed unbeatable for many people. It has offered immense potential for transforming the process through which they can easily complete the projects. The blend of an ambitious vision, great team, and robust execution capabilities instantly led them from being a customer to joining as an investor to take part in the journey.
In 2018, the organization was co-founded by Roy Danon, Aviv Leibovici, and Yakir Sundry. Like many other Israeli startups, the founders met while they were in the Israeli Defense Forces, where they completed graduation from the Talpiot unit.
