Air Design

Over the past few decades, indoor air quality has become a major concern for businesses, building owners, tenants, and employees, given its impact on the health, comfort, well-being, and productivity of building occupants. This has further accelerated the need for solutions that help businesses create comfortable indoor spaces while maintaining a healthy and productive working environment. At the same time, new government policies and the dramatic increase in energy costs have driven the demand for products and systems that utilize energy-efficient technologies—whether it is air handling units (AHU) that facilitate optimally ventilated air in commercial and industrial buildings. As the demand for such technologies increases, the stage is set for companies like Air Design to provide robust indoor air quality solutions.

Interestingly, since its inception in 1980, Air Design has designed and developed fully integrated state-of-the-art components to deliver an innovative and high-performance indoor-air management system. The company offers air handling units and fan coil units, including the latest design and construction technologies to optimize indoor air performance and increase energy efficiency.

The company’s MODUtherm—a modular air handling unit— enables users to minimize energy consumption and deliver reliable, trouble-free performance. Its modular design and construction reduce overall unit dimensions, making it ideal for plant rooms with limited space. MODUtherm’s innovative design incorporates EC fans with integrated speed control, current overload and motor phase protection, reverse polarity, locked rotor protection, and soft starting. Similarly, MINItherm—a fan coil unit—offers the latest double skin construction in a compact air handling unit. The units are available in horizontal or vertical configurations, ideal for ceilings or plant rooms where space is limited. They even include high-efficiency EC plug fans that reduce condensation and minimize energy loss.

Adding a feather to its cap, the company has developed SM Series of Fan Coil Units ideally for in-ceiling installations, which include fans driven by AC single-phase motors. Its quality 1.2mm galvanized metal casing is internally lined with 20mm polyethylene insulation foam to provide resistance to condensation. Each side of the unit includes a sealed access panel. These units are available in five standard sizes with air flows from 200 to 1900 liters per second and come in both horizontal and vertical configurations.

Today, what makes Air Design’s innovative AHU and fan coil units to stand apart from other contemporary solutions is the company’s extensive experienced staff having in-depth knowledge of the AHU product range, their performance capabilities in different environments, and sustainability in various applications. Air Design understands the typical challenges building constructors face with air quality management, and as such, the company tries to resolve these hurdles proactively for its clients.
